Locations for filmimg

In our two minute sequence film we are going to be shooting in numerous different places, here are a few ideas and examples;

This is Jesus Green in Cambridge, we were thinking of opening our film here, with the girl walking towards the camera with cut in shots of busy public places with people showing love or affection towards each other, every time we cut back to the girl she will closer to the camera. This will emphasize how lonely she is.
This is a busy town center where we will cut to showing people showing there love to each other.

We was thinking about maybe using this position of a girl sitting on her own, when she is portraying her thoughts.

We are thinking of ending our sequence with a shot like this. we will film it from Castle Hill, which looks down on all of Cambridge. The girl will stand by herself, looking down to where all the shots of the public will be filmed.
This picture influences us as we are going to have close ups of people holding hands to show their love for each other to make the girl look even more lonelier.

While cutting from the girl to the public shots we will be using shots of couples cuddling and kissing.

Ideas and influences

Our 2 minute sequence is going to be based on the opening of a teen angst love story. It will be the opening of the movie where the character and the story will be introduced.

During our sequence we are going to have numerous 5 second clips of members of the public hugging, holding hands, kissing and laughing. Anything that shows love. However, during this montage we are also going to mix in various scenes of a girl. These scenes will show her being alone and isolated from her surroundings and should contrast with the other 'love' clips.

We would like to include one scene of the girl standing in town, with all of the people behind her sped up and blurred leaving her alone. Another idea we have is to have a scene where the girl is walking along a grey, deserted beach. At the end of this montage we're going to have her sat in a field with a boy who will slowly fade away once again leaving her on her own.

Over this montage, we aim to have a voice over done by the girl. She will be talking about love and how people think it's amazing, but the truth is that it sucks.

At the end, the girl is going to look directly at the camera and say something about how her love story isn't amazing and exciting like everyone elses, it's hard and emotional and doesn't have a happy ending.

We have been influenced by many films. In particular, Love Actually. Our sequence is based on Love Actually's opening scene of people at Heathrow Airport. This too has a voice over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3GWzLpkVdg

- Love actually

These 2 films have influenced our ideas focusing on the opening scene of 'love actually' where there is a montage of public displays of affect shown throughout heath row airport with a voice over done by Hugh Grant about how love is everywhere all you need to do is look for it. The reason this has influenced us is because we are thinking about using the same idea and doing a similar sequence including public displays of affection, however we will be mixing in scenes of a girl alone in different places, while she is doing a voice over about how love is not actually what everyone thinks it is and the "truth" about love.
The scenes with the girl are going to be set in places like
- busy town centre
- Train station
- Field
- Maybe college
- Beach ( which is where eternal sunshine influences us.)
